John Selway
SOUND DESIGN, SYNTHESIS, ABLETON LIVE
John has literally blazed every path, collaborated with every talent, played everywhere, mastered every style, broken every boundary, risen to techno stardom and never forgotten his roots.
Since taking up electronic dance music from his home base in NYC in the early ’90s, John has faithfully represented his town at every turn. As an artist, a record slinger, a label owner and an educator, he is a musical force to be reckoned with and a bonafide pillar of the scene.
Max Wild
ABLETON LIVE, SONGWRITING, MUSIC THEORY
Max is an Ableton Certified Trainer who has been teaching music for over 15 years. A former instructor at Dubspot, you are as likely to find him playing the saxophone next to a DJ as you are to find him leading the Ableton User Groups in New York.
His degrees from renowned conservatories in London and NY didn’t stop him from following his real passion: Helping people channel their creativity to make music – aka teaching how to produce great music.
Claire Lim (aka dolltr!ck)
ABLETON LIVE, LOGIC PRO, SONGWRITING
Claire Marie Lim is a Singapore-born music technologist and educator, certified with Ableton, Bitwig, and Apple. She specializes in instruction for live performance, production, and writing, and frequently works with girls and young people of color.
Classically-trained as a pianist, flautist and composer, Claire has been a DJ, remixer, and live experience designer for numerous Grammy-nominated and Billboard-charting artists. Under her artist project dolltr!ck, Claire presents dynamic live sets of originals and remixes that meld electronica, pop and dance music. Her performance content has been featured by Genelec, iZotope, Serato, and Aodyo Instruments, and she has played at events by TEDx, Toyota, iHeartRadio, PayPal, and KCON.
Justin ‘Lewis’ Beck
LOGIC PRO, ABLETON LIVE, SONGWRITING, VOCAL PRODUCTION
Under the moniker Lewis Beck, Justin has been producing electronic music for over a decade. His work has been featured by international club culture magazine Mixmag, and his records have been rinsed by some of the biggest artists in underground house and techno, including Maceo Plex, Todd Terry, Doorly, and many more. His most recent EP ‘Pantomime’ is currently featured in the June Indie Dance Hype Chart on Beatport. Justin teaches Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and Songwriting at 343 Labs.
Brent Arnold
LOGIC PRO, ABLETON LIVE, SONGWRITING
Brent is a composer, cellist, and producer whose wide-ranging music is found in film, theater, clubs, and concert halls. He is a founding member of Ghost Quartet with Dave Malloy and created the cello music for the acclaimed TV show Louie.
Brent has worked with artists like The Antlers, Reggie Watts, Eyvind Kang, Jessika Kenney, Filastine, Aditya Kalyanpur, Sleater-Kinney, and Modest Mouse. He studied with violinist Michael White (Pharoah Sanders, John Handy) and cellist Walter Grey (Kronos Quartet). Brent currently resides in New York City.
Abe Duque
MIXING & MASTERING, ABLETON LIVE
With a career that started in the early days of house and techno at New York’s notorious Limelight, Abe has been at the head of the acid-house and underground-techno table since his earliest releases way back in 1992.
Between touring the world’s underground techno scenes, releasing on labels such as International Deejay Gigolo, Tension, Abuse Industries, and Rapture, and remixing tracks for household names such as Chemical Brothers and Pet Shop Boys, Abe later turned his attention to education, where he is now considered one of the most respected educators in his field.
Cândida Borges
SONGWRITING, VOCAL PRODUCTION
Cândida is one of New York City’s most sought-after vocal coaches and music educators. Classically trained, she holds multiple music degrees and is a professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
Cândida is equally versed in her native Brazilian roots, as she is in contemporary music, jazz, and electronic styles. As an artist Cândida’s signature vocal sound can be heard on recordings such as “Girar O Mundo” (Pattern Drama), while her work as a producer and song-writer has been featured in film scores, theater productions, and art installations.
Icarus Moth
ABLETON LIVE
Nathan Miller (aka Icarus Moth) was immersed in music at a very early age by his parents. He started learning the piano aged two and has been producing music digitally since he was eleven.
Formally launching his music career in 2014 under the name Icarus Moth, Nathan has worked in many aspects of the music industry from recording and touring with acts such as Mothica, Memba, Ehiorobo, and Lenii, to commercial sync work for Mercedes and Geberit, and session work as a producer and audio engineer. Icarus Moth’s sound is as soulful as it is dancey, and feels equally at home in the world of downtempo, future bass, and trap, with over 10 million plays on Spotify.
Josh Bess
ABLETON LIVE, LIVE PERFORMANCE
Josh Bess is a music producer, percussionist and Ableton Certified Trainer from New York. As a published author of the Amazon Top Seller music book, Electronic Dance Music Grooves published by Hal Leonard Corp; the creator of a multiple TEC award nominated instructional video courses with Hal Leonard Corp; an Artist and Producer with releases through Armada Music; a standing position as resident music producer with Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO; a studio drummer with multiple television and commercial music placements on MTV, Disney and Nickelodeon; plus years of hands-on work with students as an educator of electronic music creation, Joshua has the expertise to understand the goals and strengthen the skills of aspiring artists and producers within the creative industry.
Atropolis
ABLETON LIVE, LIVE PERFORMANCE
Atropolis’ deep passion of diverse music has led to collaborations from all over the world. Artists from India, Colombia, Ghana, Mexico, and South Africa have sought to work with Atropolis because of his knowledge of world sounds. In NYC, he’s worked with the likes of Grandmaster Flash.
With a degree in Music Composition and Ethnomusicology, Adam Partridge, aka Atropolis, blends international styles of music together with hip-hop, moombahton, dance-hall, and house. Like his 343 Labs colleagues, Adam was a longstanding member of the former Dubspot teaching staff, and is a highly regarded educator, producer, and multi-talented musician.
